An Important Message to Our Customers
To do our part to help contain the spread of the coronavirus, Rapids Restaurant Equipment is proactively taking steps to protect our customers and staff.
Rapids is considered an essential business by the state of Minnesota, which means we are still here to help you with all of your foodservice equipment and supply needs.
Reduced Hours for Sanitation
Until further notice, Rapids will be open from 8:30 to 12:00 and 1:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday (starting March 16th, 2020). We will be closed on Saturdays.
This reduction in hours will provide our staff the time needed to implement enhanced sanitation procedures as recommended by the CDC. This includes sanitizing all frequently touched surfaces and other environmental cleaning. We will be doing a thorough wipe down each morning and evening, as well as between noon and 1:00.
Order Online & Get Curbside Pickup!
We are also starting a curbside delivery service! All you have to do is order online and choose in-store pickup as your delivery method. When you arrive at our store, simply call us at 651-256-0580 and one of our staff will bring your order out to your car!
Encouraging Sick Employees to Stay Home
If any of our employees are feeling unwell, they have been instructed to stay home until they are symptom-free.
Shipping Impacts & Concerns
FedEx is taking part in the effort to keep you safe. Alongside encouraging good hygiene practices, they are also currently implementing contingency plans that will limit the effect of the coronavirus and make sure you get your package in a timely manner.
While FedEx is considered an essential business, there may be service impacts, depending on your state's response to COVID-19, including "state of emergency" and "shelter-in-place" orders.
There have been some clearance delays at the United States-Canada-Mexico borders.
FedEx has also implemented a Health Form - if your facility requires verification of COVID-19 symptom-free visitors, you can request the driver present their Health Form.
Effectively 3-18-20, FedEx will no longer require you to physically sign for most deliveries made in the U.S. as a temporary safety feature.
Additionally, FedEx is offering a Hold at Location option for if the recipient is unavailable to receive a package at their normal business address. Just pick Hold when preparing the shipment.

UPS has suspended the UPS Service Guarantee and the UPS Freight's Service Guarantee, which means that expedited shipments and shipments requiring a signature may no longer arrive on time. This affects the 2nd Day Air and 3 Day Select shipping options available on the checkout page of our website.
